Joan L. Warren, M.D. is the Medical Director of Vein Institute of the Desert beginning her individual practice on Feb 20, 2010.
Prior to this, after leaving pediatrics, Dr. Warren practiced phlebology in St. Louis, Missouri from 1999-2002, moving to Coachella Valley in 2002 practicing phlebology and performing laser procedures with The Vein Doctor Medical Group.
Dr. Warren was among the first group of physicians across the country to meet the rigorous requirements of education, experience, and evaluation to become certified in the field of phlebology. Phlebology is the specialty that treats the totality of venous disease.
Dr. Warren has been recognized by the Consumer Research Council of America as being one of America’s Top Physicians in the field of Phlebology from 2008 to the present. She has been listed in Palm Springs Life as one of the Desert’s Top Doctors. Dr. Warren pursues cutting edge technologies and trained many physicians over the years in Endovenous Laser Procedures for the removal of incompetent saphenous and other veins.
Currently, in keeping with our mission of being an educational center as an institute, Dr. Warren’s practice provides an Externship Program for students who attend West Coast Ultrasound Imaging in Ontario, CA. She also is a member of the Women’s Leadership Forum and mentors High School Seniors interested in pursuing a career in the medical field in the WLF’s Young Women Leaders of the Coachella Valley program.
Dr. Warren’s special interests include venous health, venous treatment and minimally invasive body sculpting and skin tightening techniques.
