The ReFirme FotoFacial technology emits intense pulse light and radio frequency energy to penetrate all levels of the skin, causing collagen and blood vessels beneath the skin to constrict. Many skin conditions can be overcome with FotoFacials including pigmented lesions, sun spots, age spots, rosacea/red complexion and broken blood vessels.

FAQ: ReFirme FotoFacial
How does the ReFirme FotoFacial work?
The ReFirme FotoFacial combines pulsed light with specific radio frequencies that are fine-tuned to target the hemoglobin (red blood cells in the blood vessels) or melanin (the brown pigment in freckles and age spots). The pulsed light enters through the skin and is absorbed by the hemoglobin or melanin. This absorption causes damage to the vessel wall and fragmentation of the melanin. The fractured vessels and melanin pigment are then absorbed by the body, causing them to be less visible on the surface of the skin.
What areas of the body can be treated with the ReFirme FotoFacial?
Full face, neck, hands and body treatments are available.
What skin conditions can be corrected with ReFirme FotoFacial?
The ReFirme FotoFacial can correct enlarged pores; sun damage (sun spots); age spots; freckles; hyper-pigmentation (brown spots); Rosacea and redness; broken capillaries; and declining skin texture.
Are ReFirme FotoFacial treatments painful?
There is minimal discomfort during treatment. You may experience heating of your skin or a stinging and burning sensation, but this is moderated with a calming gel and cold compresses.
How long does it take to heal?
Most patients have mild tenderness, redness and swelling directly following treatment which disappears in a few days.
What can I expect after my ReFirme FotoFacial treatment?
The results of your treatment will appear gradually within a few weeks of treatment. If you have been treated for hyper-pigmentation (brown spots), you may experience flaking in the area within the week. This is not the same thing as peeling, as one would expect from a chemical peel.
Can the ReFirme FotoFacial treatment be used on any skin type?
For darker, ethnic or persons with sun-tanned skin, Dr. Warren would perform a small test to determine how your skin will react and to ensure the safety and efficacy of your treatment.
